The ultra-quiet operation gives Silencer its name. The MkIII sports a Dual Thermal Control System, a sophisticated operation that allows the PSU to switch between normal and silent mode seamlessly enabling whisper quiet operation.

As you can further deduce from the power supply’s name, the Silencer MkIII 1200W speaks softly but carries a 1,200-watt stick. (Those 1,200 watts have been subjected to a torturous 50 degrees Celsius, too, so the power supply is more than capable of dealing with the rigors of enthusiast use.) Thanks to FirePower’s Dual Thermal Control System, the Silencer MkIII is able to instantly switch from silent to normal mode as loads dictate. The PSU’s 140mm double ball-bearing fan can also adjust its speed according to load and temperature, so this power supply will never be louder than it needs to be.
